- Plan your storage space. Place those items that you may need to access often to the front. Allow for walk ways in your unit.
- Store your college student's dorm room contents and furniture with us over the summer months.
- Use uniform size boxes for easy stacking. It is best not to put too much in each box.
- Teachers...store your classroom items with us over the summer.
- Stack the lighter boxes on top of the heavier boxes.
- Dishes and glassware should be wrapped in paper and packed in sturdy boxes. Mark your boxes appropriately. Stack them on top.
- Pictures and mirrors should be wrapped in cardboard, marked "FRAGILE" and stacked on the end.
- Furniture with drawers can be utilized as storage places for pictures, knick-knacks (make sure the items are not too heavy). Wrap items with tablecloths, towels or blankets to prevent breakage. Secure the drawers to prevent any accidents.
- Large appliances make excellent packing cases for blankets, towels, tableclothes and clothes.
- Shovels, hoes, rakes and hoses can be stored together in empty trash cans. Stack extra cans inside one another.
- If you stand mattresses on their side, "prop" them up so they stand straight. They may tend to bend out of shape and become lumpy.
